"Remember now Swipes, we are going to stay near Chorus city, okay? We do not want to get lost in the hot plains out there, it is far from pleasant! We will try pushing through when it isn't such a hot day, but I promised mum and dad that we would stay near Chorus."
Swipes let out a purr, rubbing his head against Narash's leg, which Narash assumed was some sort of agreement, something that came as a surprise. Swipes had not exactly been very agreeing yet this far.
It was true that Narash would never make it through the entire route on a hot day such as this. His condition wasn't really the best for it, and he was not equipped for it either. He only had one bottle of water along, and his sunglasses were left at home. But he was not exactly planning on venturing deep into the route, he was merely interested in trying to find some new Pokémon. It might have been wiser for him to stay on Route 1 for the time being, but he had gotten so excited that he wanted to see the Pokémon on Route 2 for himself.
"Do you see anything yet, Gust?" The Pidgey was nested in Narash's hair, studying the sandy plain, making cooing sounds as he shook his head.
"Well, there have to be Pokémon here somewhere. I suppose we should move away from the road slightly... wild pokémon don't seem to like those..."
Almost right away Swipes hurried ahead into the sand, heading for some of the tall grasses where Pokémon might have been hiding. Apparently even the slightest hint of it being allowed to run around to play with potentially delicious little Pokémon was enough to get it excited. Narash quickly followed behind him, looking around carefully. "Swipes, wait up!"

Near the sand there seemed to come a small noise, the noise sounding like it would come from a Pok?mon. Regardless of the noise, there wassnt a single Pok?mon in sight.

The Meowth's ears perked up at the sound, a sound that must obviously have meant that a tasty snack was nearby, just waiting to be eaten. Or, of course, that it was something that couldn't be eaten, but would end up sitting on Narash's shoulder. But ah, what did he care? Running around was far more fun anyway.
The feline moved to where it thought the sound was coming from, clawing at the ground slightly, tilting his head to study it. There must have been something under the ground, either in a hidden cave, or simply burrowing.
Narash hurried over, staring down at the ground as well. "What did you find Swipes? Is it a Sandshrew? I hear they dig around a lot in the plains..."

The noise now became slightly more clear -digglet dig- The sound comming from behind them now. It continued to echo forth like if there was a standing Pok?mon behind them looking at them all look at the ground.

Narash slowly turned around when he heard the sound coming from behind, laughing slightly. Whatever this Pokémon was, it was playing with them. Swipes had still been staring at the ground somewhat confused, but once his sharp ears picked up the sounds in a different location, he quickly hurried over to Narash's side.
"O...oh, that's not a Sandshrew! T...that's a Diggydigger!" He grabbed his Pokédex, to ask for the correct name of such a 'Diggydigger'. Diglett, alright, perhaps he was slightly off. But it did sound like the thing was trying to say 'diggydigger'.
"We should get that one to come along with us! It looks cute." He pushed the confused Meowth forward a bit. "Go on, see what it wants..."

" digglet? " the small digglet now sunk back down into the hole it poped out off and appeared behind the trainer, " Dig, digglet..." It spoke with a joyful expression on its face

Narash turned around when the Diglett turned up again behind him, letting out a small laugh. "It doesn't really seem very harmful.. maybe it wants to come along?" He got down on one knee facing the happy sounding thing, carefully and slowly reaching out a hand, so he would not startle it. "H....hi there. Do you...want to be friends? Did you want some food, perhaps?"

The small digglet now dug straight down and began to pop out of the ground as fast as a whack a mole game in the carnival seeming to like the idea of some food

Narash couldn't help but laugh slightly at how hyperactive the thing had gotten, taking out some of the food his father had prepared for Gust and Swipes. Apparently, it was food that any Pokémon could eat, and that almost all would enjoy, so hopefully this little mole was no different.
He held out his opened hand with some food on it towards one of the holes, waiting for the Diglett to pop up again to sniff the food.

The digglet at the sent of the food poped up snatching the food out of the hands of the young trainer, quickly sinking back and poping out of the other wholes after digesting the small portion it took " Digglet! Digglet!"

He laughed slightly as the little Diglett grabbed the food and ran off with it, listening to its excited sounding cries. It was an interesting little Pokémon. It had perhaps just a tiny bit too much energy for his own good, but that was barely life threatening.
Gust was just watching half amused from the top of his trainer's head, but Swipes seemed far more curious, crawling over to the new hole the Diglett had popped out from, carefully poking it, with a confused 'Meowth?'.
Narash got a bit closer again as well, extending some food food towards the Diglett. "Do you want to come with us, little one? We will travel far and wide! And you'll get nice food. Does that sound fun?"

the small mole ones more began to pop out of the ground like that of a whack a mole game. It now continuesly circled the trainer at the sounds of going on adventures. Finally it seemed to calm down before the trainer. It nodded in agreement accepting the trainers proposal. Congratulations! You befriended Digglet!!Name: ( your choice) Species: Digglet gender: male level: 5 attacks: scratch|Growl|Sandattack Hold items: none Personality: Hyper|Joyful|trusting The digglet now awaited patiently for the trainer to poke it with a Pok?Ball. It gave a slight squeal to insure that he wouldnt run away

Narash couldn't help but laugh once again that the little Diglett's hyperactive behavior, carefully patting it on the head when it had slowed down, taking out a pokéball and carefully tapping the critter on the head with it, to enable the catching mechanism.
This little Diglett, it was a happy one for certain. It seemed to be so excited about getting to go to other places.

The ball sucked the small Digglet into its sphere like area closing down and wiggling a bit only to have it completely stop with no struggle.

The moment the little critter had vanished inside of the ball, he let it back out to enjoy its freedom. Drake didn't really like having his pokémon stored away in their pokéballs, they really seemed to enjoy running around.
"Alright, I'll call you... Diggy! Could you scout for other Pokémon Diggy? We need to make our team of friends grow!" 'Diggy' wasn't entirely certain if the name was good enough, but proceeded to look around none the less, to find any potential friends.
